optical coherence tomography (OCT)

Most optometrists still only provide a single picture view of the eye, with a two-dimensional image known as a retinal photo.

We continue to invest in the best technology and provide a three-dimensional view, with a cross sectional image and a three-dimensional scan.

Why?  Because this is the only way of being able to truly see through the retina and underneath it, to ensure the best care.

Akin to an MRI scan, this is included in the price of a private eye examination. For those who are having an NHS funded examination this is offered as an optional extra of generally £80 and includes the Optos panoramic map of the retina too.
